19 Non-governmental organizations with a vast experience in working
with worker's community have together to form a network all over
the state of Tamilnadu to work for the interest of workers in garment
and it's allied industries. This network was launched on 8th November
2001 at Tripur in a meeting convened to facilitate the meeting of
visiting Clean Clothes Campaign representatives from International
Secretariat.
A CCC task force was created to consolidate this Clean Clothes
Campaign network in Tamilnadu initially. This network will work
in tandem with the principles of Clean Clothes Campaign International.
Clean Clothes Campaign works for the public awareness about the
labour conditions of textile and garment workers all over the world.
CCC works to pressurize the garment retailers to improve the living
and woking conditions of workers in their source of production.
Also, CCC works for a solidarity network and explores the legal
framework.
The Campaigns inform consumers about the working conditions which
their garments and make them pressure retailers to the responsibility
for these conditions. The campaigns request the consumers to demand
those companies to accept and implement code of conduct for labour
standards that include independent monitoring and verification.

of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected

conditions are decent
The
employment relationship is established
Clean clothes campaign cooperates with various with various organizations
all over the world especially self-organized groups of garment workers
(including workers in factories and migrant workers). CCC task force
invites all those organizations and individuals who work for right
of workers in Garment and allied industry to join in our network.
This network plans and moves in the direction of justice to labour
